Eigergletscher-Alpiglen

This is a relatively easy trail that passes under the famous Eiger and gives views of Grindelwald valley and the famous Wetterhorn. The trail itself isn't very interesting, but the views are good, and it makes for a nice and short half day hike. If you move at a decent pace it should take about two hours, but you may prefer to just go slow and take in the views. Look at trail number 36 for reference.

To get to the start of the hike you have to take a train to Eigergletscher stop, the last one before the train goes up to Jungfraujoch. This adds on a bit of a cost if you are using the Travel Pass because it will only get you a reduced price. You could also include the hike as part of a bigger hike from Kleine Scheidegg or Mannlichen which would get you a bit more value for your money. Starting from Mannlichen would probably add 2-2.5 hours depending on how slow you're going while taking pictures.

From Eigergletscher just follow signs for Alpiglen or Gridelwald. The trail is pretty flat and straight so no risk of getting lost here. Once you reach Alpiglen you can either take a train the rest of the way down, again you technically will have to pay for this but the conductor might be nice and just let you get the rest of the way down, or you can hike the rest of the way into Grindelwald.
